Crestwood

Crestwood began as two subdivisions, Jasper Place and Capital Hill, before residents voted to rename it Crestwood in the early 1950s. It was one of the first neighbourhoods in Edmonton built with curving streets rather than a grid, and it’s kept that character ever since, with mature trees, sizable lots, and the city’s famous Candy Cane Lane lighting up every December. The neighbourhood is bordered by McKinnon Ravine to the north, the river valley to the east, McKenzie Ravine to the south, and 149 Street to the west, tucking it between two ravines with easy access to the North Saskatchewan River Valley trail system. It’s home to around 1,000 dwellings, most of them single-family homes, ranging from original character bungalows to modern infill. Residents are close to West Edmonton Mall, Westmount Centre, and Misericordia Community Hospital, with local schools and a well-regarded community league running a skating rink, curling centre, and community hall.
